Movie time! movie time! yay! during the amazing holiday,I was so excited to leave on Wednesday because my friends and I were going to see "The Despicable Me 3" movie. 

When we arrived at the Manukau Event Cinema, we went to pay for our movie tickets then we went to get our popcorn, drinks and chips for the movie. 

I was super relaxed to watch the movie because I've never  seen it before. I enjoyed it so much that I had finished eating all of my popcorns. 

After the movies my friends and I went to buy a chocolate each then we drove home singing the song from the "Despicable Me 3" movie.

My Delicio Wheelie - By Tiaara

My delicio wheelie has three parts, two are brown and one is white. The brown part tastes like sweet chocolate buttons and the white part tastes like sweet heavenly vanila buttons. The taste is hard to explain in words.

The brown parts are on the top and at the bottom of the silky white part of my delicio wheelie. It looks like a round vanila button hiding in the middle. 

When you touch my delicio wheelie the brown parts will give you goosebumps but the silky white part feels like a fluffy pillow that will make you fall asleep.

The sound of my delicio wheelie will make you think there is a truck wheel spinning round and round on a rocky road.

It smells like my delicio wheelie dipped in a cup of hot fluffy ready for me to munch on.

Holiday Recount - by Elarnia

Knock! Knock! Knock! "Hello aunty and uncle", "what are you doing for the school holiday"? Aunty replied, were going to pick up your cousin Sam because tomorrow we will be going to the beach. I asked,  "can I come with you tomorrow"? yes replied aunty, "remember to ask your mum if you can come to the beach okay"?  okay I said. I was so excited that tomorrow I will be going to the beach with my aunty.

I saw my mum in the kitchen, so I asked mum if I could go with aunty tomorrow and she replied yes, but first you need to clean your room and  get your clothes and togs ready for the beach. Yes mum I will get my clothes ready.

Early in the morning I woke up to get myself ready.  I heard a beep, beep sound and I knew it was my aunty.  "I said bye mum, aunty is here now", bye said mum.  I walked out the door happy because I got $20 from mum.

When I got to the beach I saw my cousins eating meat pies in the tent, so I said hello and we all went into the water to play this game called tag.  We had lots of fun, then we heard aunty call out to us, "come on kids its time to eat waffles".  We came out of the water had a shower then we ate yummy waffles.  It was time for my aunty to drive me home and I was sad but I had fun with my aunty and cousins

Hi this is my workstation at Arrowsmith.  Do you know what Arrowsmith is?  This is a special program that will help your brain work.  I attend this program in the morning block

Cleaning Up Our Community by Jorjah

Dear Mrs Maihi

Kia Orana and how are you.  We would like to share something with you. Our class (B11) would like to do something for our community.  We got this idea from our “Topic Study” for Term 1 about “Community Service”.

We were thinking about collecting cans of food and giving it out to our nearest community which is Clendon.  We would like to give it out to those people who may be in need.

Our plan is that B11 will bring in some cans of food or packets of rice and arrange a trip to Clendon and hand the food out to the people.

We really like this idea because B11 did a chart and brainstormed some ideas about what we could do to help our community. Guess what? the most popular idea was to collect cans of food and the second most popular idea was picking up rubbish in our community.

We are thinking about travelling to the beach on our school bus and pick up bottles, plastic, and rubbish to make our community beach look clean and tidy.  We have more ideas but these two are the most popular ideas from our class survey.

All of these idea ties in with what we have been learning in Maths which something called the PPDAC cycle for Statistics.  We called ourselves the “data detectives”.  The PPDAC cycle is about having a problem, plan, data, analyse and conclusion.  

The poster is also our data for this week and B11 has worked hard to present something to you.  We hope that you will agree with our ideas of helping our community.

 My Round Purple Grape

Grape is the taste of a smooth and sour grape juice

Grape is the feel of a runny smooth round purple sour smoothie

A perfect grape is the sound of a chewy sour purple lollies chewing in my mouth.

On a very hot sunny day I started to get very hungry so I decided to eat some juicy grapes that looks like a round ball of purple m&ms.

When you dive into the pool of grape juice it smells like my mums grape perfume.

My purple round grape is my favourite fruit in the whole wide world.

White Water Rafting by: Alizay

We have arrived at White Water Rafting in Manukau.
We are following Josh to get our boots, life jackets and paddles. Now we have finished talking about the safety rules. We all picked a number and I got number two. In my team it was Aniora, Boston, Jorjah, Tiaara, Olivia and I.

We went up the elevator and at the bottom there was an obstacle course and when we finished we went into the middle of the lake and had a swim for a few minutes. We went up the elevator again, down into the obstacle course river and we had another swim.

We jumped back onto the raft paddled back then our instructor let us swim back to the edge Yay! We are getting changed now and we are going to have our lunch and make our way back to school.

"Buzzzzz" the sound of my alarm clock went, I woke up very early in the morning. I heard nothing but complete silence and as soon as I walked in the lounge I saw my mum relaxing and watching her program. I got a shock because I thought that everyone was asleep so I tippytoed back into my room without my mum seeing me. I woke my sister by saying “ get up we're going to be late you slept in.” She was very angry but she still jumped out of bed, got dressed and had breakfast.

While my sister was having breakfast I sneaked on to my mums phone to call my Nan trying to remind her about going out. She whispered "I haven't forgotten but I might be a bit late" but we said it will be okay.

Beep, beep! I heard a car horn beeping, straight away I knew that the car outside our house was our Nan's so we rushed out the door saying bye mum and she replied by saying have a good day girls! We were so excited that we were going out with Nan for the day.

We made it to laser tag safely. We all heard lots of noises coming from the room. When we walked in and we saw lots of people playing games such as mini golf, go carting and fruit ninja. We played lots of games and bought lots of lollies.

As soon as we went to the counter to check in, the man at the counter told us that we were too late so he let another group of people go in before us.  We waited for about an hour but we didn't sit still, we went to explore.  

When it was our turn we walked into this long dark room and we saw some armours. We rushed over and picked our team colour and I was in red team.

We had lots of fun and I came second in my group. When this was all over, we went back home but first we had something to eat at Burger King.

The sound of my red round cherry so crunchy like a pickle  that I want to bite it all over and over again.

The taste of my crimson round crunchy cherry tastes so sweet and  juicy like churros.

One hot sunny day my family and I went 

for a little trip to South Mall.

While we were driving to South Mall,

my aunty called and asked us to pick up my 

cousin Alizay because she wanted to come with us and buy some makeup for herself and our aunty Mary.

Secondly, my four sisters and I got fifteen dollars each from our aunty Mary.  We were excited about getting some money because we could use it on anything for ourselves.  Our aunty told us that we could go to the $1, 2, 3 shop

or the supermarket.  I chose to go to the Super market first and then the $1,2,3 shop.

At last my sisters and I bought some chips, sweets and drinks from the supermarket then we all went to the $1,2,3 shop and bought some slimes and a diary each.  That was the end of my little shopping trip to Southmall with my family.

Kia Ora, Bula, Hello and greetings. My name is Jerome have you ever heard of the FIVE SENSES? if you haven't heard of it then let me tell you about it.

Lets just talk about a jelly tip chocolate

One of the senses is...taste! It tastes like a burst of jelly popping in my mouth.

The next sense is...feel!. All I could feel is the chocolate melting and the jelly wobbling.

Oh what about sound? What does it sound like? When I dropped it on my plate all I could hear is the sound of my fingers typing.

The next one is using my eyes to see what it looks like? When I looked at the jelly tip chocolate I just want to dive in a pool of chocolate and bomb in the jelly.

Lucky last is...smell! its very hard to smell the  flavors of chocolate but in my mind I am sniffing the nutela and breathing in the smell of a strawberry jam.

In the holiday I forgot about my birthday.  Anyway, I went downstairs to see if my birthday cake was on the table. When I looked, there was nothing on the table. Where is my cake?  I went to bed.

In the afternoon when I woke up, I went downstairs I looked on the table and the cake was on the table so I dabbed then I went back up the stairs to my mum's room she was still sleeping.  I woke her up, when she got up I was so excited because it was time for me to have my birthday, yay! the end.

White Water Rafting

  

I could feel the goose bumps coming as I was getting excited and more nervous about something special. Jorjah and I were buddies throughout the whole day, we stayed together, because we were wishing to be in the same group. We’re always together in almost everything that we do, in class, table groups, learning groups, sport teams and…White Water Rafting! 

At about 10:20am, finally! It was time for B11 to leave for our special trip.  On the way down to the bus, I was still with Jorjah and we both felt goose bumps and we were getting really nervous as well. We saw the bus that we were going on and guess what?... It was our swimming bus and we all said, what!... “Is that the bus we are going on”?

When we arrived to the Wero Rafting we had to line up and wait for Mrs Puna to lead us inside the building. While we walked through, we could see the clear blue, white water and it looked pretty especially as the sun was shining on the water.  I stood in a circle, they gave us the rules, instructions and our boat wear, like a life jacket for safety, booties for our feet to wear because there are big rocks and big containers in the water.

I could feel that this is going to be so much fun. Firstly we did a trust fall, this is when you have to make a T with your paddle and lean back while standing up on the side of the raft. We did a Manu as well, this is when you have to jump in the water turn on your back and you start floating down the river.  After having so much fun we had to get changed and we hopped on to the bus and drove back to Finlayson Park School.  We were all exhausted after a great day of fun at white water rafting. All I wanted to do was to have a big dinner and a little nap.
